These baby and toddler products are made of two types of materials that I really enjoy owning. Bamboo is obviously a great material as long as you don’t submerge it in water often. It somehow manages to feel soft, yet firm, and it helps children get a good grip on the product. Silicon is now my preferred material for kitchen utensils period, as it seems to hold up the best of any material and I’m not worried about anyone getting sick from it. Silicon is also great because of how soft it is on your child’s mouth. Your toddler can chew till their heart’s content and they won’t really get any pieces off either.
What I really like about these products are the fun colors that they come in. The bamboo color is always going to be that nice beige to brown color that varies throughout the wood, but the silicon colors are nothing short of brilliant. They really get your child looking and enjoying their meal. The green bowl (the suction cup) had my son mesmerized. I probably like the blue the best out of all the colors Avanchy has, as it’s pretty light and I would even call it gender neutral.
What’s also very nice is the fact that Avanchy has worked very hard at producing both gender specific and gender neutral colors within each product. This fact helps you to buy one for a soon-to-be-mother who doesn’t know the sex of her baby.
Finally, these products are great gifts for friends who’ve just had babies or have babies who are ready to transition to solid food. Toddlers will love these as well. In the case of these spoons, I thought the handle was really well designed for a baby or toddler and I also thought that the spoon itself was well sized for the bites they would be taking.
All in all, these are excellent products that I can recommend to anyone, especially those wanting to give a great gift out to their friends. There is something about bamboo that just screams a nice product, at least in my eyes.
